1998

So, it's been almost a year since we last talked to you; what have you been up to?

Relaxing mostly. When we spoke last I had just completed yet another project on what had already been a busy year for me. I realized I needed some time off. I spent most of '97 back in Michigan spending time with my family, writing a romantic comedy, and playing a lot of basketball. That helped get me ready for what I think will be a busy '98.

You mentioned a couple of projects that you were working on last time we talked, how have they been going?

Recently I helped out the Fox Animation department on their upcoming feature Planet Ice. I have also just completed filming a guest star appearance on Beverly Hills 90210.

Tell us about the Beverly Hills 90210 appearance? What kind of character do you play? How was it working with the BH cast?

On the episode that airs April 1st, I play a character named Chris Myers, who is mentally challenged. The role was difficult, and I found myself constantly trying to make him realistic and entertaining for the audience. I think it turned out well. I mostly worked with Jennie Garth and Jason Priestly on the show, both who I found to be really down to earth, and very professional. This was by far the nicest cast and crew that I have worked with since Dream On.

Do you miss working on a regular series? Would you want to commit to one again?

Yes. Working six seasons on Dream On was a tremendous experience. I am certainly open to being on a series again.

Do you keep in touch with the cast of Dream On?

Yes, but it gets difficult with everyone's busy schedules.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Being a hopeless romantic, I would like to believe that in 5 years, I will have met the woman of my dreams and have married her. Career wise, I would like to be working heavily in features, and perhaps writing and directing.

What's a typical week like for you?

A typical week for me right now, consists of reading scripts, auditioning, and on a personal level, continuing to write, and making time for my friends and playing basketball.

What kind of things, besides basketball, what do you like to do for fun?

I really like to go out and play pool, air hockey, anything competitive.

Do you have a girlfriend? Is she in the business? How does she deal with your fame?

I don't have a girlfriend at the moment, but I am dating.

Do you have any regrets about the path that your life has taken? Do you think you've missed anything?

No regrets. I have lived a very blessed life. I missed a lot of high school things, like the prom or playing on a varsity basketball team, but the trade off has been having a wonderful career and meeting a lot of special people.

Do you like being in the business?

I really love to act. There is nothing I enjoy more than playing a character that is complex and presents a challenge. Being in the business may not be what I want to do for the rest my life, but I am really enjoying it now.

So what's next?

Continuing to find and perform interesting roles, writing my script, and finding happiness in everything I do.
