How have you been since the interview last year?

Life has been busy but wonderful.

I understand you have a new series, The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne, which you have described it to us as "part Indiana Jones, part X-Files." can you give us an idea of what the show will be about?

The premise of the show is, what if the adventures that Jules Verne wrote about in his books actually happened to him in his life?   I'm playing the title character, Jules Verne.

Since you are playing Verne, do you get to do a French accent? Have you read any of his books?

The producers don't want me to have an accent for the American audiences. and to be truthful, if we were really being authentic, Jules wouldn't have a French accent, he would speak French since it was his native language.

I have just started reading Around the World in Eighty Days. so far it is wonderful and I have a lot of respect for Jules as a writer. hopefully someday I'll be able to write with the same creativity and flair as he did.

It sounds like the show is going to be filled with special effects. How many and what kinds of things should we expect to see?

Each show contains between 70-120 digital special effects which averages out to be many more than the average feature film. The entire show is shot on high definition cameras and so far the visuals have been absolutely stunning. I hope the fans are as amazed watching it as I am filming with this brilliant technology.

Where is it being filmed?

Montreal, Quebec. where it is currently very cold and we are now experiencing freezing rain. If it wasn't for the wonderful people here and great energy of the city I might be very sad in these conditions. however, it has been a delight living here and hopefully we'll be here many more years.

How long have you been working on it and when should we expect to see it?

I've been working on the project since July. Our first episodes should begin to air mid this year.

What is a typical day on the set like for you?

Very early call times and late wrap times. The typical week tends to be five thirteen hour days and weekends filled with sword practice, script readings and post dubbing sessions.

Usually by 7 am I've been through makeup and hair and we've done our first blocking. lunch tends to be between one and two, and typically I wrap between seven and eight each night.

You said in your last interview with us that you were doing a lot of writing. How is that going?

I'm still basically working on the same romantic comedy as I was last year, but as my life experiences increase the plot tends to get deeper and the character interaction more realistic. I'm a bit of a Hemingway in the sense that I have the bad habit of rewriting and rewriting my scenes over and over again. I'd like to believe by the end of this year my script will be finished. I don't want to rush it, however, so if it takes longer, so be it. as long as I feel that it's good.

With everything else happening, do you still have time for basketball?

Absolutely. I typically play every Sunday afternoon. no matter how busy my schedule gets I make time for the things that I really love.

I'm ecstatic about the NBA season starting back up. I really feel that this year my beloved Lakers will win the NBA championship.

Who are your current favorite actors and films? What recent role would you have loved to have gotten?

This is a question that I have been asked numerous times before and as the years go on, it gets harder and harder to give the right answer. I admire so many different actors and enjoy so many different films we could make an entirely separate interview just about that. Maybe next time.

If The Waterboy had been about basketball as opposed to college football, that would definitely have been a role that I would have wanted to play.

This interview launches your new web site. Do you spend any time on-line?

I actually enjoy the internet more than television. when I get time off from work I enjoy surfing a little bit. It appears to be the medium for the next century.

Do you like to hear from your fans? What is the best way to reach you?

I'm always honored to hear from my fans. as an actor, it makes me so pleased to hear that people enjoy the work that I do. This new site will be a great place to get in touch with me. Letters sent to me are often misplaced, destroyed or don't get delivered to me at all. A fan club will be starting up in the fall if any one is interested. Stay tuned to the web site.

All things being ideal, where do you see yourself in five years?

I'm a big believer in taking things one day at a time, trying not to look too far into the future. the more I practice this lesson, the more peace I have achieved in my life.

That however makes for a boring answer, so, I'd love to believe that I will be married and have either my first child or my first child on the way. I have to admit, becoming really famous is not terribly important to me. ultimately, I'd like to believe my greatest achievement would be being a great husband and a great father.

Hopefully I'll still be enjoying acting and I'll finally finish my script.
