His father left the family at an early age. He graduated in Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia in Architecture to Drama. His first on-screen debut was in 1972 in the film “Together for Days”. He also graduated at the same year. The actor then relocated to New York where he was involved in Negro Ensemble company and was part of the stage productions that include ‘A Soldier’s Play’, ‘Home’ and ‘District Line’ in the 1980s.
